Everyone who sews has a ‘stash’. All those fabrics, buttons and trimmings you buy or save with no particular project in mind but know will be useful at some point.  Last January, I looked at the mess in my workroom and tried to convince myself that I’d saved all those  upholstery samples, dressmaking off-cuts and charity shop finds from land fill - but I had to admit that all I’d actually done was delay the process! I vowed to work through them over the next few months and not buy anything else unless I had an immediate project in mind for it.
